Anyone that knows me knows that I adore animals, specifically of a pup nature. Perhaps it’s their sweet innocence, their unconditional love or their ability to elicit a smile with their silliness and countless smooches…or I inherited it from my pup loving family. All I know is that my day is much brighter because of my sweet long legged mutt Joseph, and the dogs that I work with on a weekly basis at the local animal shelter, Alaqua Animal Refuge (it’s a truly spectacular place, please check it out!)
Us animal people are birds of a feather, so it’s no surprise that many of our brides include their cherished fur babies in their nuptials. As you can guess, the photos are precious and I just couldn’t help creating a little post to share the cuteness.
To start off, the original CGE pup and my little man, Joey Gillon (notice the crossed paws. Proper stance and placement in photos is always a must with this guy):

Amanda + David’s Duke and Marvin:
Jenny + Travis’ brown bear Dixie:
Sam + Mike’s furry baby Sydney:
Aja + Jay’s Sasha, who was driven to the beach all the way from LA:

Today is a very special day at Christina Gillon Events – happy happy 5 year anniversary to us!! What an incredible journey it has been and our heartfelt thank yous go out to all of our precious clients, friends, family and vendors for your support over these past 5 years. In all seriousness, we could not have made it without you and your love. You are the reason for our success and our continued growth and we are eternally grateful.
To celebrate, here is a photo of our very first booked couple who made CGE official, Skye + Kristian. The couple who started it all!
The love, the lush colors, the elegant yet eclectic details… Amanda + David’s Rosemary Beach wedding was candy for the eyes and we’re so proud that it was featured in Style Me Pretty Florida! Feast your eyes on the gorgeous work of Meg Baisden Photography on the SMP Florida blog today!
Well color me Pink! Our very own Meg + Kris have been featured in Memphis Pink Bride Magazine and we couldn’t be happier! This couple had a Fall wedding to die for… luscious fluffy flowers, soft gray accents, a custom branch and glass bubble chandelier over the dance floor, a man cave complete with scotch and cigar bar, a rocking Memphis band… all topped off with a beach side view of our gorgeous emerald waters. Photographers Sheile Goode and Hayley Greene of Goode-Green Photography captured the day to perfection. For more wedding goodness, you can peruse photos of their wedding in our gallery.
Wow, it has been a fantastic couple weeks for CGE! We’re knee deep in a rocking wedding season, we were featured on Style Me Pretty last week and now the day has finally come for another super exciting announcement!! I’ve been waiting oh so patiently for the Summer issue of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons to come out because our very own Jb + Danny’s Rosemary Beach wedding has been featured! The lovely Candice K did a spectacular job in capturing this pink petal soft wedding and to see it in print makes this girl ecstatic! Yep, officially in love with this spread.
It isn’t all the time that I wake up bouncing off the walls in excitement (alright, it’s normally never, until the coffee kicks in) But today was a different story because I woke up to the news that Christina Gillon Events is being featured on Style Me Pretty today!! I have been in love with SMP for the longest time and when our weddings are up on their blog, it’s squeal worthy (you can see our featured weddings Katie + Justin, Tiffany + Jason and Christine + Mike). So to have the girls at SMP feature CGE is a true honor and we are so very thankful!
Well, I do declare it was a wonderful day when we found out we had won the Knot’s Best of Weddings award for 2013!! Sending hugs, kisses and huge thank yous to our past clients who have made this a possibility! We love you and your sweet reviews warm our hearts!
You have also contributed to our fourth consecutive year of winning the WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards, woohoo!!
Happy New Year!
We’re so excited and want to scream it from the rooftops!! As we toast to our fifth year helping brides create unforgettable weddings in our beautiful beachfront community, we have a big change to announce. Are you ready for it? (Drumroll please….) We have become: Christina Gillon Events!
So, why the name change from Fête, you ask? I wanted a name that more accurately reflects the personalized service we provide our clients at every “event point” along the way – including bridal luncheons, rehearsal dinners, bonfires, bocce ball tournaments, you name it!
Our mission has always been to build relationships with our brides so we can create customized, memorable, and seamless experiences — in large venues or small; on the beach or in a church; and for close, intimate groups or large and elaborate “Fêtes.” We feel our refreshed brand better reflects our services and mission.
We welcome you to peruse our new website – and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Thank you again for supporting us, following us and referring us to friends over the years. We would not be here without you.
Cheers to a happy and prosperous 2013!
